Specialist Support Coordination
Social Work and the NDIS
Social Workers play an important role in maintaining and maximising quality of life for individuals living with a disability, across the lifespan. We are experts and skilled at navigating the most complex and challenging presentations, helping to find calm amongst chaos or difficult situations. The NDIS recognises the skills of Social Workers within the NDIS Guidelines (2025).
“The main focus of social work as a therapy support is to maintain and maximise your social functioning and overall quality of life. Social workers use a holistic approach to understand how your individual factors and social environment might impact your therapy. For example, social workers may support you with individual, family and group work and strategies to adjust to disability and associated lifestyle changes. They can provide therapy supports to help you deal with emotional aspects of life transitions and improve wellbeing. Social workers must be a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).”

Behaviour Support (coming soon)
Behaviour Support by allied health Social Workers.
Operating within the ethical framework of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and the compliance standards of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), behaviour support services focus on a human rights-based, person-centred approach to care. Core services include conducting comprehensive functional behaviour assessments to identify the underlying triggers of behaviours of concern, followed by the development of tailored Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans. These plans prioritise capacity-building, environmental modifications, and proactive strategies to enhance the individual’s quality of life while actively working to minimise and eliminate the use of restrictive practices. Additionally, services encompass collaborative training and coaching for families, carers, and interdisciplinary teams, ensuring that support is implemented consistently, safely, and in ways that maximise the participant’s dignity, autonomy, and social functioning.
Travel Charges
Because we deliver the majority of our services online, travel charges only apply to participants who receive in-person support. If your sessions or support are exclusively online, you will not be billed for any travel time or kilometres.
Why we charge for travel?
Delivering on-the-ground support requires our practitioners to spend time traveling to and from appointments. Charging for travel allows us to:
- Maintain Mobile Services: It ensures our practitioners can leave the office to meet
you in the environments where you feel most comfortable and where capacity building
is most effective. - Sustain Specialist Support: It covers the operational costs of maintaining a highly
qualified mobile workforce, ensuring we can reach participants across diverse
locations without compromising the quality of care. - Align with NDIS Guidelines: This brings our practice into direct alignment
with the standard guidelines set out in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Pricing
Limits.
